Fly to Lake Como from Zürich and Venice with our VIP helicopter

Lake Como, Lago di Como in Italian, is situated in Lombardy and is 51 km long, covering an area of 146 km². After Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore is Lake Como the third-largest lake in Italy. Discover the many small villages, which have preserved their typical Italian character to this day, along the lakeside of Lake Como. Stroll through the beautiful alleys with their small boutiques, bars, cafes and restaurants.

In the 15th century, the region prospered due to silkworm breeding and the silk industry. The many luxurious villas and palatial buildings originate from this period. Some of these villas are now luxury hotels. Feel the flair of bygone times in combination with Italian hospitality at hotels like Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, Vista Palazzo in Como and Mandarin Oriental in Lago di Como. Another hotel in the luxury category is Grand Hotel in Tremezzo.

The Isola Comacina is Lake Como’s only island and was very likely inhabited already in ancient times. Lake Como is crossed by the Adda river which leaves Lake Como near Lecco and merges with the sea near Colico.

The main places are Como, Lecco, Lierne, Varenna, Menaggio and Bellagio. There are lake-crossing ferry connections between these places. The beautiful surroundings and the climate attract not only guests from around the world, celebrities like George Clooney also spend their holidays here. The former German Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer, penned most of his memoirs here at his estate in Cadenabbia. Lake Como and its surrounding area has often served as film set. Films like Star Wars Episode II, Casino Royale and Ocean´s 12, for example, have been filmed here.

The pilgrimage destination Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, at the western lakeside of Lake Como, has been part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 2003. The climate at Lake Como is mild and Mediterranean, and many subtropical plants like citrus fruits, palm trees and cypresses as well as olive trees thrive here.
Thanks to the thermal wind (called Breva), perfect conditions for kite surfers and windsurfers prevail from June until September. The centre for water sports enthusiasts is between Bellagio and Colico. The surrounding mountains offer hiking and climbing possibilities. Golf courses completement the programme for visitors.
